Getting to Blanes by train from Barcelona city centre:

From Barcelona city centre: The daily service C-1 of the regional trains Cercanías (identifiable by a back to front white C on a red circle) travels every 30 minutes from Barcelona to Blanes. You can board the train at various “Cercanías stations” in Barcelona: Sants, Plaza Catalunya, Arc de Triomf and El Clot. This train route is the first which came into service in Spain. It usually travels right by the coast along the sea and is a real experience. The regional trains Cercanías are fitted with air-conditioning and are both clean and comfortable. They usually run every 30 minutes from approx. 6am to 10:30pm.

Getting to Blanes by train from Barcelona Airport:

By far the easiest and quickest route is with the regional train (identifiable by a backwards C on a red circle). From Barcelona Airport, opposite the airport building, take the C-10 Cercanías train to Sants, and from there, change to the C-1 to Blanes (see above. With the train from Barcelona city centre).

By bus + train to Blanes - the sightseeing option:
it may take a little longer than the train option but it allows you to see a little more of Barcelona and to experience the flair of Plaça Catalunya or Las Ramblas. Take the Aerobús A1 airport bus, directly in front of the airport building, and go to the final stop Plaça Catalunya where you take the C-1 Cercanías train to Blanes. You can get to the Cercanías station at Plaza Catalunya via the underground, Metro (M) entrance.
By train to cities south of Blanes:
From the train station in Blanes, accessible with the L4 and L6 town buses, the C-1 regional trains call at various towns heading southbound i.e. in the direction of Barcelona.

To get to other townsnorth of Blanes, particularly westerly or northerly towns such as Girona, Figueres, Colera, Portbou etc., take the C-1 regional train, described above, to Maçnet-Massanes and from there take a long-distance train.
