Playa Tortuga
The Playa Tortuga or Cala Sa Tortuga is a small pebble beach, which is difficult to get to, north of Lloret de Mar. Ever since a storm washed away the path and steps to the beach in winter 2006/2007 accessing this beach is advisable only for climbing experts. It is almost exclusively inhabitants of the nearby housing estate Urbanització Tortuga who visit this beach so you are guaranteed peace and quiet, although sunbathing on this little beach is rather impractical.

Access : Playa Tortuga
Distance from the center of Lloret de Mar : approx. 3 km
On foot: approx. 1 hour from Lloret main beach headed north along the old Camí de Ronda battlements, past the Cala Frares and Cala Trons bays. The path, however, comes to an end before Playa Tortuga and leads through a residential area full of luxurious houses. Playa Tortuga is not sign-posted here so it is advisable to ask somebody although you may not encounter anybody at certain times of day. This is a long walk but is highly recommendable, even if you only venture as far as the residential area: the beautiful steep coast, nature and pure tranquility in contrast with the hustle and bustle of the town beach in Lloret de Mar. You should, nonetheless, come equipped with plenty of stamina and with water for the steep steps and the walk up and down, especially if you make this journey during the summer months around midday. It is very tiring but seeing as there is hardly anybody around, your hard work will be rewarded with peace and quiet.
By car: From Lloret de Mar take the GI-682 in the direction of Tossa de Mar. Approx. 1 km after the exit sign for Lloret take the exit "Camping Canyelles/Cala Canyelles" and turn left before the Caprabo supermarket. Follow signs for "Urbanització La Tortuga" and "Golf". A little further on, go straight ahead to "La Llevantina Golf" and at the right hand side an insonspicuous sign points to "Ur. La Tortuga" and "Av. Mediterranea". Follow this sign to the right. You will end up in a cul-de-sac: a semi-circular street with houses in the centre. You can park there. At both sides of the semi-circle, inconspicuous steps lead down to the area between the houses and the sea. Once at the bottom, go right and then through a little tunnel. From there you can climb down onto the beach. This is not entirely safe, however.
Parking: up on the street
