Town Museum Museo Municipal
In 1935, shortly before the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, local intellectuals founded Tossas town museum on the square Placa Roig Soler, within the city walls. At that time it was Spain's first contemporary art museum. In addition to the significant art collection, you can admire the numerous findings from the excavation site of the Villa Romana dels Ametllers. The museum is situated above the Cala Codolar beach.
Admission 3 €, concessions approx. 1.80 €

Casa Sans House
Casa Sans was built in 1906 in art nouveau style by the architect Antonio Falguera. The building was commissioned by Joan Sans, an Indian (emigrant who made his fortune in Latin America then returned) who had made a fortune through cork in Columbia. Today the building is a hotel, but due to its historical status, it can still be viewed free of charge.

Typical Catalan Farmhouse Mas Rabassa or Can Magi
Situated right next to the city walls at number 56 La Guardia street, this farmhouse was probably the first house to be built outside the city walls themselves. The Mas Rabassa was built in the 14th century, though the watchtower was built in the 16th century. The Roman excavation site, Villa Romana dels Ametllers previously part of the farmland, is nearby.

Ruins of the Església Vella de Sant Vicenc Church
Beautifully situated on the Tossa de Mar headland, are the ruins of a late Gothic church from the 14th century, built on the foundations of a Roman church shortly after their discovery. The word vella means old and is attributable to the fact that a new church was built in the new town in the 18th century, also called Església de San Vicenc, to accomodate Tossa's growing population.
The old church was destroyed by an explosion in the 19th century after French soldiers had used it for gunpowder storage. It lies on the coast in the immediate vicinity of Tossa's City Walls in the old town Vila Vella de Tossa and on the way to the Tossa Lighthouse. Because of its beautiful location, concerts are held here from time to time.
