Mar i Murtra

The grounds of this botanic garden, which span around 4 hectares, are separated into three different plant biospheres: subtropical, moderate zone and Mediterranean area. This garden, founded by German entrepreneur Karl Faust more than 80 years ago, has been declared a cultural treasure of national interest by the Catalonian regional government. There are approximately 3000 different exotic and Mediterranean plant species to be admired here. The garden offers spectacular views of the sea and of Cala da Sa Forcanera beach, which is accessible only by boat.
