Fiestas in Empuriabrava
 

Empuriabrava hosts some highly recommended fiestas , especially in summer.

The following festivals and events are well worth attending. Mid-July: Fiesta del Carme, city festival in Empuriabrava. With concerts and fireworks. During the festivities, there is also a boat procession through the canals with the figurine of the city’s patron, the Virgen del Carmen. Mid-August: Fiesta Mayor de San Lorenzo, city festival in Castelló d'Empúries. This festival promises numerous activities, concerts and firework displays. Mid-September: Festival Tierra de Trobadors, mediaeval festival in Castelló d'Empúries. Castelló d'Empúries immerses itself in the Middle Ages at this annual event. Musicians, dancers and troubadours give mediaeval dance and music performances in the city centre. You’ll encounter mediaeval characters everywhere: soldiers, princesses, witches, thieves, artisans and paupers. Horses, ponies and other animals are also on show. At the mediaeval market, there are also numerous mediaeval stands where natural products and artisanal pieces can be purchased or viewed. There is also a mediaeval tavern, mediaeval food and sweets, oils, wine, herbs, wood and ceramic products and glassware. It is a market brimming with history and tradition.

During this event, mediaeval concerts are held in venerable surroundings at the Basilica of Saint Maria and Palau Comtal.
