Like on all beaches north of the Olympic Port, there is not as much hustle and bustle at Playa de Bogatell as on the beaches of Barceloneta. Bogatell beach is 600 metres long and, like all other beaches in Barcelona, is a sandy beach. The average age of the beach-goers here at Bogatell is somewhat higher than that of the neighbouring beach Nova Icaria. At the northern end of the beach there is a volleyball court, which is much less used than that of the neighbouring beach Nova Icaria: those who really want to play against good opponents should leave Bogatell and go to the neighbouring beach. Alternatively, you can play ping-pong at Playa de Bogatell.
Bogatell beach is also equipped with lifeguard stations, showers and toilets.
Restaurants and beach bars at Playa Bogatell:
There are two beach bars: Chiringuito and Vai Moana. At the top of Bogatell beach, on the promenade, there are 3 restaurants: Escarmarla offers average quality for prices ranging from €25-40 per head. If you take into account its seafront location, it is relatively good value for money.
