The northernmost beach in Barcelona, Playa de Llevant, lies in front of the futuristic high-rise buildings of the newly constructed area Diagonal Mar in Barcelona. Like all of Barcelona’s beaches, it is covered in light golden sand.
This 380 metre long beach, which was first made accessible to the public of Barcelona in 2007, has a peculiar atmosphere due to the backdrop of high-rise buildings, the idle, still undeveloped areas to the back of the beach and the towering solar panel of the Forum. However, if you would like to visit the least crowded beach in Barcelona or if you live near or are staying near Playa de Llevant and don’t want to stray too far, this is a highly recommendable beach to visit. At the southern end of Playa Llevant there is a rope climbing frame for children and showers and lifeguard stations are also available, as on all of Barcelona’s beaches.
